J.D originally joined 6:AM in July of 2002. At his first audition, he shocked the band with his powerful and melodic voice. Within a few meetings the band had known they had found the voice and frontman they had been looking for. Just four short weeks later JD performed his first show with the band at Club Temptation in San Leandro, CA. and played with the band until the end of 2005. J.D. then rejoined the band in Sept. of 2007 at the now legendary "REUNION SHOW" at the Octopus Lounge in Pacifica, Ca. J.D. then cemented his name as the original voice of 6:AM at The QuarterNote in Sunnyvale, Ca. during the bands annual Halloween show.
      J.D's life and experiences spur his lyrics. And his rich and powerful voice has often been touted as 'DANZIG-esque'...saying that his voice sounds like a cross of MEAT LOAF and GLEN DANZIG. "Would that be Meatzig or Danloaf?" J.D. has asked.
       Some of J.D.'s favorite bands include LIVE, QUEENSRYCHE, THIN LIZZY, SEVEN MARY THREE, QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE, STAIND, WHITESNAKE, and the BEATLES.
        While some of his favorite singers are ELVIS,RAUL MALO, HARRY CONNICK JR. GEOFF TATE, ED KOWALCZYK, DAVID COVERDALE, VINCE GILL, and MEAT LOAF.
       As the lead singer, J.D. strickly relies on his SHURE SM86 mic to deliver his voice to the masses.
      Over the years, J.D. has found ways to expand his vocal prowess and hone his on stage persona. Before joining 6:AM, J.D. was an established karoke singer in the San Francisco area, and during his hiatus from the band he performed with the rock band SAGAVAL as well as taking on the title role in the rock opera "KING OF SAN FRANCISCO". And has been a multiple time nominee for the BANDS4BANDS BEST VOCALIST award.
     J.D.'s favorite song to perfom live is PRISONER. "There is just pure power of the song...from vocals to the riffs. Everytime I sing it, I look back to where I was and then think of how far I've come. That's very empowering to me. To be able to share with people, that you do not have to be locked up by your addictions or an illness. That indeed you do not have to be a prisoner...not even to yourself." One thing 6:AM's fans know about the "ROCK-N-ROLL GUNSLINGER", is that he brings passion and power to all his performances.
