( your lead singer is hot!) is it true you guys have been together 10 years and this is your first CD. Can you explain why? HEY TATIANA. THAT'S A GREAT QUESTION...BUT THE ANSWER IS PRETTY COMPLICATED. YOU SEE 6:AM WAS FOUNDED IN 1999 BY JOHNNY AND SOME FRIENDS. OVER THE YEARS THE BAND HAS HAD NUMEROUS LINE UP CHANGES AND WITH EACH CHANGE CAME A SLIGHTLY NEW SOUND, SO RECORDING A CD WOULD HAVE BEEN A LITTLE TRICKY. THERE HAVE BEEN A FEW "DEMO" CD'S THAT HAVE BEEN PUT OUT TO CLUBS AND WE WERE IN THE MIDDLE OF RECORDING AN ALBUM SEVERAL YEARS AGO BUT THE BAND SUFFERED A MAJOR CHANGE UP DURING RECORDING AND THE RECORDING WAS EX-ED OUT. THE CURRENT(and we hope it says that way) LINE UP OF 6:AM INCLUDES JD DOZIER, JOHNNY ROCK, KEDAR PATEL, AND ALEX "FOOD" DANIEL. WE EACH SHARE A SIMILAR PASSION FOR WHAT WE DO AND HOW TO DO IT, SO IT MADE RECORDING "IT'S ABOUT TIME" ALL THAT MUCH EASIER. AS FAR AS JD BEING HOT...WELL WE'LL LEAVE UP TO YOU. Okay so you have a CD and a huge party... are we gonna start having regular shows, music in the park... sold out concerts at shoreline? What are the plans for 2010? Are you guys kinda hanging in the once in a while small gig format or are we going to see some big changes now that there is a CD?
HEY SUNI~ ACTUALLY YOU'VE HIT A QUESTION THAT THE BAND HAS BEEN DISCUSSING FOR SEVERAL MONTHS NOW. THE MAIN FOCUS WE HAD, WAS THAT AFTER ALL THESE YEARS WE SHOULD HAVE SOMETHING SOLID TO SHOW FOR IT. NOW WE DO HAVE COUNTLESS MEMORIES AND VIDEOS OF SHOWS, BUT A BAND SHOULD HAVE A CD! OF COURSE WE ARE LOOKING FORWARD TO GETTING OUT A LITTLE MORE OFTEN TO PROMOTE "IT'S ABOUT TIME", BUT EXACTLY HOW WE'RE GOING TO DO IT IS STILL UP IN THE AIR. HAVING THE ALBUM WILL HOWEVER OPEN MORE DOORS FOR US THEN ANYTHING ELSE AND WE ALREADY HAVE GOTTEN SOME CALLS AND EMAILS ABOUT SOME SUMMER TIME FESTIVALS. WHAT I CAN TELL YOU, IS THAT WE ALREADY HAVE SEVERAL NEW SONGS IN THE WORKS AND ARE LOOKING AT RECORDING OUR FOLLOW UP ALBUM BY THE END OF NEXT YEAR.

ON THIS ONE INGRID, WE WENT TO THE WHOLE BAND FOR THEIR ANSWERS:
- KEDAR SAYS..."You never know with these things...depends on what's in vogue at the time, who notices or "discovers" our stuff and what they like, etc etc
If it was up to me - Pris, Prem, Whiskey, Blood, Unclean, High Road, Fade, Nightstalker".
- JD THINKS... "I'd say as of now. Unclean or Prisoner . But More than likely Highroad"

HEY JOSE! BELIEVE IT OR NOT THERE ARE SEVERAL WAYS TO KEEP UP WITH WHAT'S GOING ON AND WHERE UPCOMING SHOWS ARE. THE 1st WAY IS CHECK OUT THE CALANDER ON OUR WEBSITE(SET YOUR ALARM), IT HAS EVERYTHING THE BAND HAS COMING UP AS WELL AS THINGS THAT WE JUST THINK MIGHT BE INTERESTING AROUND THE BAY AREA. THE 2nd WAY IS TO SIGN UP FOR THE 6:AM! TIMES, AND THERE IS LINK ON THE HOME PAGE(JUST REMEMBER TO CHECK YOUR EMAIL TO APPROVE IT)...WE TRY TO SEND OUT AN EMAIL ABOUT ONCE A MONTH TO KEEP OUR FANS UPDATED. WOW STACY, AND WE THOUGHT WE GOT UP EARLY! IT'S FUNNY THAT YOU ASK THAT QUESTION. THE FIRST DEMO CD EVER RECORDED FOR 6:AM! WAS TITLED "NO TIME LIKE THE PRESENT" AND THE FIRST ALBUM WE TRIED TO RECORD A FEW YEARS BACK WAS GOING TO BE CALLED "THIS IS YOUR WAKE UP CALL". ANYWAY, WE HAVEN'T GIVEN THE NEXT ALBUM A LOT OF THOUGHT YET, BECAUSE WE'RE STILL ENJOYING THIS ROLLAR COASTER, BUT MAYBE FOR THE NEXT ONE ALL OF YOU CAN HELP US CHOOSE IT. |
